Graham Slee started his working career in electronics design and manufacture and progressed to be a Senior Engineer in Broadcast Audio Research, development and design. With over 25 years extensive knowledge of electronics, and a real passion for good music, he started Graham Slee Projects in 1998. Graham`s "raison d`etre" is, like our own, to further the cause of the analogue disc.

He felt that the boosting of the minute signals a phono cartridge produces was in a "time warp" and needed a modern day approach to reveal the best from these discs. From this small beginning Graham Slee phono stages have beome highly regarded all over the world, even in the USA, a country which boosts countless numbers of audio electronics manufacturers.

What makes Graham Slee`s electronics different from all the rest? All of his products are designed, built and tested "in house", - no far eastern manufacture here - they are all hand built and soldered by hand using precision temperature controlled soldering irons by Graham and his "right hand man" John Cadman. He also adheres to what he terms "The Three Virtues", Honesty, Customer Satisfaction and Real World Prices and the philosophy that - The shorter the signal path the less corrupt the sound.

Every phono stage is designed scientifically, then tested to meet the technical requirements and then the listening begins. As a follow up the design is re-investigated, re-tested and listened to again and again until it meets with the teams complete satisfaction.

All Graham Slee products are "RoHS Compliant" (Directive 2005/95/EC) so are LEAD FREE. This complies with all the new EU rules regarding lead free electronics. Most other manufacturers have hardly thought about these new regulations let alone how to comply with them and most importantly how it will adversely effect the sound quality of their products. Graham has put an enormous amount of time and effort into improving the sound quality of each unit whilst at the same time eliminating the allegedly harmful lead from the circuit. He took the decision as soon as this directive was issued to be one of the first to comply with this new legislation and after some considerable rethinking along with extensive testing, all of his products are now compliant and whilst many others are now struggling to come to grips with the new regulations and the huge negative effect it has on sound quality and reliability, he has found ways of improving the sound quality whilst maintaining his impressive reliability record.

Products

MC Head Amps - Elevator EXP, transformerless head amp for low output moving coil use only. By using innovative design it overcomes the problem of step up transformers, namely bandwidth limiting and the unwanted "hum and buzz" of mains and rectifier noise. It has a broad bandwidth and is DC coupled to ensure absolute phase accuracy for superb rendition of instrumental and vocal timbre. A small unit that gives a big sound, we have been very pleased with the natural sound quality this unit gives, fantastic value for money.

As a "stand alone" unit it has to be used with a moving magnet phono preamp, the top of the range Era V Reflex being the first choice and at £1,310.00 represents fantastic value especially as they both come complete with the PSU1 power supply.

Gram Amp 3 Fanfare is the budget MC head amp suitable for 0.2 to 1.0mv cartridges and available at the astonishingly low price of £245.00. The PSU1 can be purchased as an upgrade for £163.00.

Phono PreAmps - Revelation - Jazz Club - Era Gold Reflex - Era Gold V - Era Gold Intro - Gram Amp 2 SE - Gram Amp 2 Communicator - Gram Amp 1 Bridge.

The Revelation and Jazz Club are high quality phono preamps suitable for Moving Magnet and 2mv Moving Coil cartridges and have a selection of 15 different equalization characteristics suitable for older recordings, especially 78rpm. The Revelation also has balanced and single ended outputs and costs only £740.00, the Jazz Club costs only £600.00.

The Era Gold Reflex, Era Gold V and Era Gold Intro at £620.00, £480.00 and £333.49 represent outstanding value as Moving Magnet and 2mv Moving Coil phono stages suitable for the highest grade systems. Reflex and Gold V come complete with the PSU1 power supply. The Intro uses the basic T48-24 psu but is easily upgraded with the PSU1.

The entry level phono preamps also take moving magnet cartridges and high output moving coils. The range consists of the Gram Amp 2 Special Edition at £214.00, the Gram Amp 2 Communicator at £150.00 and the Gram Amp 1 Bridge at £98.00.

Power Supplies PSU1. Our household electricity supply is a major problem for the audio enthusiast, voltage variations and spiking within the AC supply seriously affect our listening pleasure. The easiest and most cost effective way of improving this problem is by using the PSU1 with all of Graham Slee products. A standard fitment with the Elevator EXP, Era Gold V, Revelation, Jazz Club and Solo MC and can be purchased as an upgrade with all other units.
