LFD Audio was established in 1987 by Essex University graduate Dr. Richard Bews with assistance from Professor Malcolm Hawksford and Paul Mills, also of Essex University. Their aim was to offer the discerning audiophile high quality, hand crafted audio amplifiers to a market that was dissatisfied with mass market mediocrity. After nearly twenty sucessful years LFD have gained a firm foothold in the quality sector of the electronics market. Products such as the Mistral, MC1 and MC2 plus the revolutionary, and distinctly high end battery powered phono-stage have established the company as a small volume manufacturer of the highest order..

LFD also produce a range of high quality tonearm and interconnect cables, starting with a modestly priced multi-strand LCOFC copper through to the some of the very best sounding cables available at any price, all hand crafted from pure silver. The tonearm cables all use LFD`s own 5pin DIN plugs or locking phono (RCA) plugs (see table below) and are produced to the highest quality for maximum information transference. The interconnects all use LFD`s own excellent sounding phono plugs.

All LFD amplifiers and cables are the result of many many hours of listening and experiment to give the very best possible sound.
