SME SERIES 300
The 300 Series is designed to be just below the Series IV in the SME tone-arm range and by offering a detachable magnesium headshell it has universal appeal. It is produced in three arm lengths, 9", 10", 12" and with there magnesium headshells this helps keep the effective mass low to be compatible with most modern cartridges.

Originally all three models had aluminium tone arm tubes but about ten years ago the ever popular 309 was given a magnesium tube to significantly improve performance. Often referred to as the detachable Series IV the 309 in particular has exceptional performance for its price range. More details can be found on the Series IV page.
Although normally finished with a bright chrome finish and black enamel tone-arm an all black alternative is available to order.
Budget wiring allows a low purchase price but as with all SME tone-arms this can be upgraded to increase performance significantly.
